“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.”
A Note From Rags Revisited:
I have not had the chance to post (at least as much as I would like too). I’ve been juggling work, an internship and attempting to set aside time to develop material for this baby. Lately, a lot of my diy projects have required as little skill as possible, so that I can make new looks that are easy and fast to produce. I was gifted a pair of joggers from a brand called Almost Famous. Not only did the brand have such cute pieces, the name for the clothing is extremely catchy. I would like to read the words “Almost Famous” as a metaphoric sign of things to come. You can find many of their pieces at Macy’s, Delia’s, Charlotte Russe, Mandies among many other retailers. I took an old denim shirt from my closet and made a quick cutoff crop top. This diy is so easy and all you need is a pair of scissors and a creative soul. I wore this outfit earlier in September. at the moment it’s probably to cool to wear denim crop-tops, but you can pair the joggers with a pretty top, leather moto jacket (or try a suede fringed jacket ooh!),and some heels for a trendy fall look. The purpose of this post is to show you that style is subjective. Every one has some sense of style. (Although I’m sure we can debate some people’s choices in clothing.) None the less… I rest assure there are pieces in your closet that can be altered and styled with an open mind. A denim shirt doesn’t have to be just a denim shirt.
- Take an old denim shirt and lay it out flat.
- Mark on the shirt where you want the length to end.
- Cut across the bottom of the shirt.
- Remove sleeves. **Note: you can do this two ways you can remove the sleeves from the hem or you can cut them close to the hem all the way around. It really depends on what look you are going for.
- Wash and dry your shirt to get a nice frayed edge.
